West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has tipped Scott Allan to become a key man for the Baggies.
Allan completed his move from Dundee United to the English Premiership side on a 2-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.
Hodgson has high hopes for the Scotland under-21 international.
He said: ”We have followed Scott for a long time we have pursued him and we have made every effort to persuade him to come to the club and are delighted it has happened. He will be a very good addition to our squad.
”This is not just a player we are bringing to help for the next four or five months. This is a player that we think, in the next few years, will be an important player for the club.”
Albion’s sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth added: ”We have fought off a lot of competition to sign Scott. We are always interested in talented, young players and he fits into that category.”
