Dundee United’s attempt to sign striker Dougie Imrie from Hamilton Accies has stalled over the asking price.
The Tangerines have made a £25,000 offer to the Division One side for the 28-year-old former Inverness Caley Thistle player but Accies want more.
It is understood United’s bid is of the ”take it or leave it” variety but the Tannadice side remain confident Imrie will join them despite the transfer hitting a hitch.
Meanwhile, Finnish frontman Lauri Dalla Valle has travelled back to Fulham after his loan deal with United came to an end.
Dalla Valle made a decent contribution to the Tangerines, making 15 appearances and scoring three times since arriving from Craven Cottage in August.
He was on the substitutes’ bench for Peter Houston’s men when they lost 2-1 to Celtic at Parkhead on Saturday then headed down to London on Sunday to resume his career at the Premiership side.
Writing on his blog, Dalla Valle said: “I couldn’t have asked anything more from the club. My team-mates, the coaching staff, the people that work at the club they’ve been all brilliant with me since day one.
“That made my time even more enjoyable. And the fans were great! Really friendly and I got a warm welcome when I came into the club. Their support is great. Thank you for that! 🙂 Thank you Dundee United!”
