Dundee manager Gordon Chisholm has declared himself satisfied following a closed-doors game with Hibs which allowed him to run the rule over a host of trialists as well as his contracted squad.
The Dens Park gaffer has six hopefuls training with the club, including former Dundee United midfielder Stephen O’Donnell, defender Scott Buist and ex-Celtic youngster Nicky Riley.
And while Chisholm was impressed by what he saw against Hibs, he will not be rushing into making any decisions.
“It was a fine competitive game which was played at a good tempo for this stage of the season,” said Chisholm, who would still not be drawn on the identities of the mystery trialists.
“It finished 2-2, with Gary Harkins scoring both our goals, and was an ideal opportunity to see the new lads in action and the rest of the boys back in harness.
“One or two of the trialists applied themselves well but it is far too early to talk about contracts.
“We have another bounce game on Saturday against MK Dons so I will be having another look at them then.
“Thankfully, nobody picked up any injuries apart from the usual bumps, bruises and blisters.”
Meanwhile, Dominic Shimmin has had an injection in a bid to cure his troublesome achilles injury that has ruled him out of the pre-season schedule so far.
