Dunfermline have tied up 30-year-old midfielder Gary Mason, who had previously played for the club between 2000 and 2007, for another season.
Mason rejoined the Pars in February, after being released by Hamilton.
Boss Jim McIntyre said he was delighted to secure the services of the Edinburgh-born player, who began his career at Manchester City and spent two seasons with St Mirren after leaving the Pars.
“Gary has done well for us since he came back here and we’re pleased to get him tied up for another season,” he said.
Mason has been signed up until the end of May next year.
In his first spell at Dunfermline, Mason scored 13 goals in 243 appearances and played in two cup finals.
Last week, McIntyre released Stephen Glass, Scott Muirhead, Ross Campbell, Graham Holmes and Greg Ross as he began trimming his squad for next season.
New contracts have been offered to striker Graham Bayne, midfielder Alex Burke and goalkeeper Greg Paterson.
McIntyre added that all three have yet to contact him regarding the offers.
