East Fife have carried out something of a role reversal after assistant manager Scott Crabbe stepped down due to work commitments.
The 41-year-old has decided to remain as a coach at Bayview but ultimately decided he could no longer devote the time needed to fulfilling his role as number two to player-manager Stevie Crawford.
He will be replaced as assistant by Jason Dair, with the former Raith and Dunfermline midfielder stepping up from his current coaching post at the Methil club.
Crabbe joined East Fife as a player in 2006 and made 10 appearances for the Fifers before opting to put his playing career aside and concentrate on the coaching aspect of the game.
The former Hearts, Dundee United and Falkirk striker has been ever-present in the dugout since being named assistant manager when Crawford took over as gaffer on a permanent basis in April 2009.
With Crawford still very much a part of the playing squad, Crabbe has also been heavily involved in the media side of things, regularly giving post-match interviews to the local and national press.
A club statement confirmed, “The board of directors wish to thank both Crabbo (Crabbe) and Dan (Dair) for their continuing efforts on behalf of the club.”
