Cowdenbeath wait for news of John Armstrong injury

Cowdenbeath manager Jimmy Nicholl is bracing himself for more bad injury news tonight.
The Fife first division side crashed out of the Scottish Cup at the weekend at Peterhead and also lost defender John Armstrong to a recurrence of his ankle problem.
Now Nicholl is waiting to discover the seriousness of the injury.
“John did well to come back on Saturday but it backfired on us,” said the Central Park boss. “He went over the same ankle he had injured before with no one near him.
“We will find out on Tuesday night how bad it is but it is a big worry for us.”
Cowden have a derby at home to Dunfermline on Saturday, referees’ strike permitting.
Nicholl confessed he is desperate for the game’s ruling body to sort out the impasse, adding, “I really do not want the strike to happen. I am surprised it has come to this, to be honest.
“I just hope the SFA can sort it out and the football can go ahead.”
