Scott Bain continues to catch the eye of Dundee boss Paul Hartley.
With Kyle Letheren injured, Bain once again deputised between the sticks for the Dark Blues during Saturday’s victory over Hamilton, with the 22-year-old keeping a clean sheet.
Hartley, who signed Bain from his previous club Alloa during the summer, admitted he was impressed by the keeper’s display, especially one early stop from former Dundee striker Mickael Antoine-Curier.
The manager said: “I thought the save he made from Curier was outstanding.
“I think it was a vital one for us as that first goal was always going to be crucial.
“We know Scott’s quality. He has had to bide his time but I feel we have a really good young goalkeeper on our hands.”
Saturday’s victory over table-topping Hamilton was Dundee first home league win of the season.
While delighted to get that particular monkey off his back, Hartley admitted that it was not something that was overly concerning him when he took his side’s overall displays into consideration.
He added: “We didn’t really mention it to the players much. I think if you do, then it can start to affect you.
“It was nice to get a home win but we feel we have been playing well at Dens without getting the results.
“So that was pleasing and hopefully we can kick on from there.”
