Dundee boss Paul Hartley is hopeful that young striker Craig Wighton will be back in action sooner rather than later.
The 17-year-old forward has been missing from the Dark Blues’ last two Premiership games with Kilmarnock and St Johnstone due to a knee injury.
But Hartley says he is confident Wighton can get himself ready for a return to hand them a boost after the international break.
Hartley said: “Craig has started running again. He just jarred his knee playing against Aberdeen under-20s the other week.
“Before that, he had picked up a wee knock playing for Scotland under-17s. But it’s nothing serious so he’s OK.”
Meanwhile, Hartley insists the Dark Blues won’t set their sights too high yet after moving into sixth place in the table following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Tayside rivals St Johnstone.
He said: “We’ll just take it a game at a time. We’re trying to get as many points as possible to stay away from the bottom end of the league and our targets might change after that.”
