Dundee 1 Ross County 1: Dark Blues fail to capitalise against 10-man Staggies
ByNeil Robertson
Dundee passed up a gilt-edged opportunity to end their long run without a league win against bottom of the league Ross County this afternoon.
The Staggies suffered a hammer blow in just the seventh minute when Terence Dunfield was shown a straight red card for a rash challenge on Paul McGinn.
The Dark Blues subsequently struggled to take advantage of their one-man advantage although they should have scored when David Clarkson had a superb close-range opportunity just before the half-hour mark but he shot wide.
However, they did make the breakthrough when Jim McAlister netted in the 52nd minute.
County refused to lie down though and scored a shock equaliser through Craig Curran in the 65th minute.
Dundee pressed for another goal but the Staggies held on to take a point.
