Dundee winger Nicky Riley has parted ways with the club after four years at Dens Park.
The 28-year-old, who started his career as a youth at Celtic, has been with Dundee since 2010 and was part of the famous ‘Dee-fiant’ team who managed to stay in the First Division despite receiving a 25-point penalty.
He made 31 appearances last season as the club clinched promotion back to the top flight, but has struggled to break into Paul Hartley’s side this term and has spent some time on loan with League One Peterhead.
A Dundee statement said: “The club would like to wish Nicky all the best in the future and thank him for his efforts over the years.”
Peterhead had been keen to extend Riley’s stay at Balmoor, but the wide man’s decision to leave Dens means he will not be able to join Jim McInally’s side until January at the earliest.
