Dundee boss Paul Hartley says his players were bitterly disappointed after failing to take all three points against a 10-man Ross County side at Dens yesterday afternoon.
The game, which was watched by Tim Keyes of the club’s American investors, was just seven minutes old when the Staggies’ Terence Dunfield was sent for an early bath.
Dundee finally took the lead in the second half through Jim McAlister but were stunned when County’s debutant Craig Curran snatched an equaliser.
The Dark Blues pressed unsuccessfully for a winner and the result means they have now gone eight league games without a victory.
Hartley said: “I think it was definitely a case of points dropped for us today. In terms of the amount of chances, the majority of play we had and possession.
“But it is just one of those little spells we are having just now where we make a mistake and we are being punished for it.
“However, we definitely had enough chances to win the game as we had so much of the ball.
“At their goal we were sloppy in our play and there were a couple of things after that we didn’t do well.
“It was their only attack of the second half. We have said that to the players who are bitterly disappointed.
“We felt it was a good chance to get a win today.”
The game was Dundee first since the demolition derby defeat at Tannadice on New Year’s Day and when Hartley was asked if this was one of the most testing times of his managerial career, he replied: “Yes, I think so. As a group, we just have to keep working hard to get through this.
“We are trying our best and we just have to go again next week. We had some good play today but when you get your chances, you have to score them. We had enough to win the game.”
