Dundee manager Paul Hartley believes the feelgood factor is sweeping through the city ahead of the new season.
With the Dark Blues back in the top flight there is plenty for fans to look forward to. The Championship flag will be unfurled at Saturday’s home curtain-raiser against Kilmarnock.
Then, of course, there are the much-anticipated derbies against neighbours Dundee United, with the first one falling on Sunday September 21 at Dens.
Hartley said: “I think it’s an exciting time as we wait for the league season to start.
“I think it’s like that for the city as a whole. For the fans, the owners and the staff at the club, there is a lot to look forward to.
“I feel there is a good atmosphere about the place. I think you can detect that and we have tried to create that.
“I think there is definitely a feelgood factor about the place. This is where we want to be the top-flight.
“We have had a good start in the League Cup by beating Peterhead and we want to carry that on.
“Now we need to make sure we are ready for Saturday when Kilmarnock come here.
“We have brought in a certain type of player who can pass the ball and entertain. But the real stuff starts on Saturday and that’s where it counts for us.
“The league is where we will be judged.”
