Dundee have signed former Motherwell striker David Clarkson.
The front man, who was a free agent, has been training with the Dark Blues for a few weeks after being on trial with St Johnstone earlier in the summer.
Manager Paul Hartley said: “We are delighted to get him signed up. I know him well from playing alongside him.
“He hasn’t really played as a main striker for a few years but we see him as a centre forward. He will give us good competition, good experience and a good goal return at this level. He’s impressed us over the few weeks we’ve had him in training.”
Clarkson spent six seasons as a regular in the Fir Park side’s first team, before moving to Bristol City in the summer of 2009.
It was then that he was a team-mate of Hartley.
After two years with City he spent time on loan at Brentford before joining Bristol Rovers in 2012.
Capped twice for Scotland, Clarkson scored on his international debut in a friendly against Czech Republic in 2008.
