Gary Harkins insists that Dundee have not picked up the points their play so far this season has deserved.
The Dark Blues went toe to toe with a highly-rated Aberdeen side on Saturday before ultimately losing 3-2.
Dundee’s overall performance was on a par with that of the Dons and they possibly did enough to have earned a point.
Instead, they were left bitterly disappointed as they suffered what was their fourth defeat in a row.
However, Harkins insists that apart from a couple of blips since the start of the season, Dundee’s displays have been high calibre and he is certain they will start picking up points again soon.
He said: “If you look at the teams we’ve played, we have picked up points where you’ve thought we shouldn’t have but also lost games we think we should have won.
“We’ve done OK. I wouldn’t say the points we’ve got reflects how well we’ve played in some games. Hopefully in the next few weeks we can add a lot more points.
“Last week we were poor at Ross County and also in the first Dundee United game. But that’s two bad games the rest of the time you could say we should have got something.”
Meanwhile, Nicky Riley who was told he was surplus to requirements at Dens in the summer, has joined League One Peterhead on a month-long loan deal.
