Livingston 0 Dundee 2: Dark Blues retain top spot with win
ByCraig Smith
Dundee maintained their lead at the top of the Championship courtesy of what turned out to be a routine 2-0 win at Livingston.
Any nerves the league leaders had disappeared just eight minutes into the fixture as Peter MacDonald gave the Dark Blues the lead, before Kyle Benedictus’ 56th minute header doubled their advantage.
The victory means Dundee just stay top on goal difference, despite Hamilton’s win at home to Falkirk.
MacDonald’s goal was the pick of the pair as Dundee’s number nine curled a superb free-kick beyond Livi keeper Darren Jamieson from the edge of the penalty area.
Livi showed little up front throughout and were punished by Benedictus 11 minutes into the second half as he headed home a Jim McAlister corner.
Dundee still have a game in hand on their title rivals and can extend their advantage at the summit by beating Raith Rovers at Dens Park on Tuesday night. Can Dundee go on to win the title? Have your say below.
