Peter MacDonald confident ahead of Dundee’s title tilt

Dundee Striker Peter MacDonald insists their success over Livingston proves the Dark Blues have the bottle required for their title tilt.

Paul Hartley’s men go into Tuesday night’s match at home to Raith Rovers in fine fettle.

But with closest challengers Hamilton also victorious, MacDonald is convinced Dundee have shown the mettle it will take to pip Accies to the trophy come May.

“Livi are a good footballing side, and you can see that the pitch was not a good football pitch,” he commented.

“So it was a battle and I think we’ve shown we can battle as well as play. It was a wee test of character playing on that, so to come away with three points and dominate the match like we did shows you how we are.

“We’re only looking to the next game and what’s happening now, and I’m sure Hamilton and Falkirk are the same. Now we build on to Tuesday and Raith Rovers.

“You can’t look at two or three matches at a time at this stage of the season, you’ve got to look who your next opponents are, get that over and done with, and progress from there.

“Once you start looking too far ahead that’s when you start to get complacent,” he said.

“Everything is open and every team is fighting until the end of the season because they are all looking to get a play-off spot.”

Peaso ended his mini-drought recently and made it two goals in two games on Saturday, with his sublime first-half free-kick added to by defender Kyle Benedictus in the second half.

“It was good to get back on the scoresheet,” he added.
