Tickets for the Championship decider match between Dundee FC and Dumbarton FC sold out after “unprecedented demand.”
For the first time in years all four stands at Saturday’s game will be occupied by home fans and all 10,500 tickets are now gone.
Jim Thomson, general manager at Dundee FC said: “We’ve never known anything like this for many years.
“I can’t remember the last time we sold out. This is quite phenomenal for a game at Den’s Park.”
The sell-out success means there will be no seats available on Saturday and no cash gate.
Online tickets sales were suspended as club staff struggled to cope with the volume of sales however those who had already purchased online have guaranteed tickets.
Mr Thomson said: “We have just been so busy we couldn’t deal with the demand. We only managed to post out tickets on Tuesday evening.
“We have had constant queues on the phones and in the ticket office.
“I feel sorry for anyone who is still trying to get tickets but can’t.
“Clearly some fans will be disappointed but we are delighted at the demand there is for this game.
“It shows the support we have and it will be a great atmosphere on Saturday.”
Visiting fans will have a small section in the main stand and police are advising people to arrive in good time and not get too caught up in the carnival atmosphere.
