Dundee have announced that as of last Saturday, season ticket sales had topped the 3,000 mark an incredible 73% rise on “early bird” figures from this time a year ago.
More than a third of the sales for the upcoming Premiership campaign are new ones, a factor which has delighted club chief executive Scot Gardiner.
He said: “One of the most encouraging things for all of us is the fact that 37% of the sales to date are new.
“By any gauge, both the renewal and the ‘new’ sales figures are impressive and show just how much the combined efforts of the team, the fans and the staff have meant to all who support Dundee FC as we look forward to a new challenge in the top flight.
“The Board tried to keep any price increases to a minimum while still allowing us to give (manager) Paul Hartley a competitive budget and maintain and improve the infrastructure of the club.
“This magnificent response gives everyone connected with the club a real boost and we are very thankful for that.”
Season tickets continue on sale at the Dens Park ticket office and online at www.dundeefc.co.uk, as are the pre-season friendly briefs for next month’s visit of English champions Manchester City, who have confirmed their squad will travel to Dundee accompanied by the Barclays Premier League trophy.
