Dundee boss Paul Hartley is understood to be targeting Stranraer goalie David Mitchell.
The 25-year-old has played nearly 250 games for the Blues and Stair Park manager Stephen Aitken is fearful that the Dark Blues are going to make a move.
Aitken said: “I am aware that Dundee have been watching David for a while and their manager took in our play-off game at Forfar last weekend. They followed that up by sending a representative to Stranraer on Saturday for the second leg so they appear very keen.
“David has done well for us in the six seasons he has been here and it is no surprise there is interest in him. There has been interest in him before and we have been able to keep hold of him but the chance of full-time football at a Premiership club would be difficult for him to turn down.”
Hartley took keeper Scott Bain from his former club Alloa last summer and he has firmly established himself as the club’s No.1 although he will miss the rest of the season through injury with Kyle Letheren taking his place between the sticks on Saturday against Inverness.
The Welshman, who has been named in his national side’s provisional squad for their EURO 2016 qualifying clash with Belgium next month, is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to move on with Hartley now searching for a replacement.
