Dundee boss Paul Hartley says no one at Dens will be resting on their laurels after last season’s top-six success.
Instead, the manager is determined that his new-look Dark Blues will push on and he has demanded improvements in all aspects of play.
All of which means the Dundee players should expect plenty of hard work between now and the first competitive game at Kilmarnock on August 1.
Hartley said: “It’s up to us to try to do better than we did last season.
“I’ve said that to the players already since we came back.
“We’ve had a brief discussion and touched on what our plans are.
“It’s about what we need to do and how we can get better for the season ahead.”
He added: “We want to finish higher up the table than we did last time and we want more points which obviously means winning more games.
“In between, we have to aim to score more goals and concede less.
“So for the next four weeks until the season starts, we have to build a team capable of working towards those goals.
“We have to get them as fit as we can for the next 11 months because it will be a long season.
“But we feel we have a strong squad,” he said.
“Overall, I’m just really excited about the group I’m working with.”
