Dundee captain Kevin Thomson could be back in the Dark Blues team for Saturday’s clash with Aberdeen.
The midfielder, who has had a stop-start season because of injury, picked up a knock last week and missed the Tayside derby against St Johnstone.
But manager Paul Hartley expects to have the former Hibs and Rangers man back training today, giving him a chance of proving his fitness for the weekend.
There’s no doubting Thomson’s influence on the Dundee team.
Of the nine games he’s played so far this term, the Dens Park men have only lost two.
Meanwhile, there are no other injury problems in the wake of the Saints game.
