Dundee have announced that highly-rated keeper Scott Bain has agreed to extend his contract with the club until 2018.
The 23-year-old was snapped up by Dark Blues boss Paul Hartley during the summer from Alloa.
The manager knew all about the goalie having previously given him his chance when he was in charge of the Wasps after Bain had been released by Aberdeen.
When Bain arrived at Dens, he made no secret of his ambition to take over from Kyle Letheren as the club’s No.1 keeper and he has now made the jersey his own, making 20 appearances for Dundee so far this season.
He has produced several impressive performances between the sticks, pulling off some top-class saves and maturing into a commanding presence in his box.
He has now joined top goalscorer Greg Stewart and centre-half James McPake who have also recently signed contract extensions in committing his long-term future to the club.
Dundee managing Director John Nelms said: “We are very happy to have a young talent like Scott Bain commit his future to us as we continue to build for a long bright future for Dundee Football Club.”
