Dundee boss Paul Hartley is hoping to “draw” a line under his side’s recent run of stalemates when they entertain Aberdeen at Dens tomorrow lunchtime.
The Dark Blues have drawn six out of their last eight games with the last four all by the same 1-1 scoreline.
While the manager pointed to the fact that the results also mean his team are unbeaten recently, he is still determined that they will finally secure all three points against the Dons.
He said: “It would be nice obviously.
“We’ve had a lot of draws, to be fair, and everybody knows that. It’s been well-documented.
“We’re not getting beat which is a good thing.
“But there isn’t an easy game in the league and we expect another tough encounter against Aberdeen on Saturday.
“They’re always good games with Aberdeen and exciting to be involved in.
“That was the case last season and we had a tough one up there earlier this season.
“I think the games between us are probably pretty open.
“Both teams are sent out in an attacking way, trying to be on the front-foot. I don’t see that changing.
Hartley added: “I’ve watched Aberdeen over the past couple of weeks.
“They’re very attack-minded, a bit like ourselves.
“We changed our system the last time we played up there (2-0 defeat).
“We went to a back three.
“We were OK after about 70 minutes and then we lost a poor goal.
“Overall, though, we’ve had fairly close games between ourselves and Aberdeen.”
Hartley has close to a full squad to choose from for the game with the exception of skipper Kevin Thomson, who missed last week’s Tayside derby at St Johnstone.
Hartley said: “We’ll see how Thommo is. It might be a little bit too early for him.
“He just nicked his hamstring in training early last week.
“But everyone else is good to go.”
