Christian Nade has declared himself ready to make his Dundee debut despite going a year without a competitive match.
Nade became well known in Scotland during his spell at Hearts but his last club was PTT Rayong in Thailand.
His time there was scuppered by a cartilage injury and, after agreeing to sign for East Fife in the summer, that injury plus problems securing international clearance put paid to a permanent move to Methil and he left last November without playing a match.
Now, after three weeks working on his fitness with the Dark Blues, he has signed a deal to the summer and is determined to hit the ground running if he makes a debut against Hamilton Accies at Dens on Saturday.
Nade said: “I am very happy to be here. I have been working really hard on my fitness and I appreciate Dundee giving me this chance to get back into the game.
“Now I will do my best to repay them. I feel more nervous just now speaking to you guys than I will come Saturday, to be honest,” he added, referring to being questioned by the assembled media.
He added: “This is a big game against Hamilton but they are all important matches in this league. We want to increase the gap between ourselves and Hamilton.”
Dens boss John Brown said: “Christian had been training with us for three weeks. His fitness wasn’t the best when he first came in but he has worked hard and now he looks the part.”
Should he start then it certainly won’t be an easy debut for Nade, with second-top Accies looking to wipe away the one-point gap between them and the Championship leaders.
