Dundee have sent promising youngster Matty Allan out on loan to League Two outfit Montrose.
Dens boss Paul Hartley admitted at the end of last month that he had told several of his younger players they would be farmed out because: “They need to go and play real football in terms of development.”
The manager has already done that with teenage striker Craig Wighton who has joined Raith Rovers on loan now he has mapped out a similar path for Allan who will join Paul Hegarty’s side on a six-month deal.
Dundee are looking for the central defender to play first-team games with Montrose while also turning out for the Dark Blues in the SPFL Development league.
Hartley said: “Matty has done well with the Development squad so it will be great for him to go out get some experience in a tough division with Montrose.”
