Dundee manager Paul Hartley is expecting his old boss Jimmy Nicholl to go for it when Cowdenbeath visit Dens.
With the Dark Blues chasing the Championship crown, many home fans will be looking for their side to take the game to the Blue Brazil on Saturday.
However, Hartley thinks Nicholl will also tell his players to express themselves as they aim to avoid the relegation play-off spot.
He also feels the Central Park side will be keen to bounce back from a 5-0 hammering from Falkirk last weekend.
“Jimmy has got them very organised and they are hard to beat,” said Hartley.
“He has turned Cowdenbeath around since he took over there. They had been isolated a bit before.
“They have still got a chance of staying up, so they will be trying to win the game as much as we are.
“So I think it will be a very open game on Saturday. We’re going for the league and they are trying to stay in it.
“I am not sure they will come here and sit in because Jimmy is good at motivating players and he gets them to be really positive.
“I don’t think, though, at this stage of the season that the players ours or theirs really need motivating. It’s about doing your talking on the pitch.
“I think they are dangerous opponents. They will be hurting from last week when they had a bad result so we have to make sure we’re ready for their reaction.
“We have had a couple of hard games against Cowdenbeath we have struggled against them, but this time we want to get on the front foot.
“We’ve got to try and attack them from the off and have good energy. It’s up to us to make things happen.”
Hartley is confident his players are relishing the title fight rather than being anxious about it.
He said: “The players have been upbeat in training, and so they should be because they are joint top of the league. We are really looking forward to Saturday.
“They should enjoy being at the top end of the table going for the title. They have been really positive. Their attitude has been spot on.
“Of course, there is a bit of pressure, but you have to handle that.”
Iain Davidson has won his fitness battle and will be ready to face Cowden, as will Peter MacDonald.
He said: “Davidson is OK and has trained.Peaso had a bit of a sore foot but he trained as well and is fine.
“Steven Doris is still out. He did a wee bit of running, and Matt Lockwood has done a bit of training after being out for the past few weeks.
“Gary Irvine is suspended, so we’ll have to make a decision on who plays right-back on Saturday.”
