John Brown tips keeper to be big success at Rangers
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dundee boss John Brown has tipped Steve Simonsen to be a big success if the keeper can win himself a deal at Ibrox.
The former Everton, Stoke and Sheffield United goalie, who played for the Dark Blues towards the end of last season, is currently on trial with Rangers.
And Brown believes that Govan gaffer Ally McCoist will have landed himself a top keeper if he decides to offer Simonsen a contract.
The Dundee manager said: “Steve would be a great signing for Rangers.
“He’s only 34 which is fine for a goalie and he still has plenty to offer. Steve is a great professional brilliant in the dressing-room and a first-class all-round keeper.
“He’s played at big clubs before so knows what it takes. I would like to wish him all the best.
“If it does happen for him at Rangers, I’m sure he wouldn’t let anyone down.”
