Dundee boss John Brown has declared his side “ready” for their promotion push after their friendly with Rangers.
The Dark Blues created a host of chances and took the lead through Declan Gallagher but had to be content with a draw when Arnold Peralta equalised for the visitors.
The game was organised to mark the 120th anniversary of Dundee Football Club’s first match against the same opponents.
And in the build-up to the fixture, Brown had stated that it would give him a fair idea at what stage of preparedness his side were at.
The manager said: “I am happy with that tonight. We played some great football in the first half but if it hadn’t been for poor finishing, we would have won the game.
“But we are ready. You could see that by the performance. Everybody is playing to a high level including the subs that came on.
“So I am really pleased with what we have. We managed to open Rangers up on a lot of occasions and we scored from a great set play.
“We have been working on that and full credit to Ray Farningham and the rest of the coaching staff for that. We need to finish off better but we are going into League One and what the boys showed me there tonight, we are going to do that in a healthy position with the squad we have got.”
Rangers manager Ally McCoist said: “It was a good workout against a Dundee side who will be challenging to get back up.”
