Dundee boss John Brown has dismissed the rival bid which aims to derail the Texan takeover as an act of desperation.
American-led consortium Football Partners Scotland remain front-runners to plough an initial £650,000 into the Dens Park club, although the Dark Blues Business Trust (DBBT) lodged a counter offer to invest £250,000 but only if the FPS package is rejected by shareholders first.
After studying the finer points of the DBBT blueprint, Brown reckons there remains only one show in town.
“There are so many holes in that proposal,” he told Courier Sport. “It’s not been thought out properly. It’s as though it’s been thrown together in desperation.
“When I read through it as manager of the football club, I’m in charge of all football matters. It was like things were getting touted as though: ‘This will be the youth structure, this will be done and that will be done’.
“Hold on a minute, I’m in charge of all football matters. Whether it’s that bid, whether it’s the American bid, I’m in charge of all football matters from grass-roots right through to the first team.
“So I think it’s been thrown together in a panic. I’ve sat down at length with the other investors and, as manager of the football club to safeguard the club, we’ve had dialogue but this seems to be lacking a lot.”
