Dundee fans are set to flock to London for a testimonial match honouring one of the club’s former cult heroes.
The Dark Blues have been chosen as the opposition for Julian Speroni’s benefit game against his current club, Crystal Palace, on Tuesday May 26 at Selhurst Park.
The announcement on Tuesday night has prompted a positive reaction from both sets of fans, with Dundee supporters set to make the end-of-season trip to south London in big numbers.
Speroni signed for Dundee in the summer of 2001 and went on to make 113 starting appearances for them, including in a Scottish Cup final and the Uefa Cup, before making the move to Palace for a fee of around £500,000.

In the last 10 years the 35-year-old has made 370 appearances for the Eagles and has been one of the English Premier League’s most consistent keepers since their return to the top flight.
Speroni can expect a sizeable turn-out from Dundee, with flights and accommodation already being snapped up.
