Dundee manager John Brown has vented his rage at Hearts for knowingly delaying the administration process to cheat his own club out of a place in the SPL.
The Edinburgh side finished 10th last season 14 points clear of the relegated Dark Blues.
However, Brown has claimed that the announcement that Hearts were to enter administration was deliberately put off to avoid them dropping into the First Division. As things stand, they will face an automatic 15-point deduction for next season.
Brown argued that their true financial position should have been made public last term, meaning it would have been Hearts not Dundee who would have gone down.
That scenario would have left SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster in the position of attempting to hold on to a television deal without Glasgow or Edinburgh derbies. Brown though is furious that his club is the one that has suffered.
“It doesn’t surprise me that this has happened. We’ve known all along how serious the problems were at Tynecastle,” he said.
“What really annoys me is that they have totally used and abused the system by leaving it until now to avoid relegation and it’s been allowed to happen. They’re probably laughing at us now but what has gone on is scandalous.”
