Administrator Bryan Jackson hopes lessons have been learned at Dens Park

Dundee’s former administrator Bryan Jackson has expressed his hope the club has learned from past experience as the Texas takeover deal continues to hang in the balance.

Jackson, who was instrumental in bringing the Dens Park outfit back from the brink in 2010, has been heartened to see the Dark Blues reach a more sustainable footing on and off the field in recent years.

But Scottish football’s resident axeman, whose insolvency firm BDO took over the day-to-day running of crisis-hit Hearts, has warned Dundee not to return to the dark days of living beyond their means and urged fans to make the right choices for the club.

“I’m very pleased that we managed to take Dundee and get it through to survive,” he told Courier Sport. “I’m very happy about that but I hope that lessons have been learned, the corporate governance will now be better and what happened at Dundee won’t happen there again.

“I don’t know anything about the details of the Dundee takeover bid as far as we’re concerned, we’ve done our job and we’re away now. But obviously we hope the club goes on to prosper.”
