Gary Harkins has won a move back to the SPL with St Mirren.
The man who helped give the Buddies a bit of a relegation scare last season while at Dundee has agreed a two-year deal with Danny Lennon’s men.
Harkins was also linked with Motherwell but has picked the Paisley side.
A statement from the club confirmed: “St Mirren have this afternoon made their first addition to the squad for the new season with Gary Harkins inking a deal that will take him up till at least the summer of 2015 with the option of a further year.
“He was high on the wanted list of several other SPL clubs after his departure from Dundee but Saints have battled off the opposition and he has opted for the black and white stripes of St Mirren for the next two years with the option of a further year that could extend the deal to 2016.”
Harkins joined Dundee from Partick Thistle in 2009 before having a spell at Kilmarnock.
