Kilmarnock v Dundee: Gary Harkins has nothing to prove upon Killie return
ByNeil Robertson
Gary Harkins insists he will have nothing to prove when he returns to Kilmarnock.
The midfielder and Rugby Park boss Kenny Shiels had a well-publicised bust-up after a game against Hibs on December 23.
Harkins, who won a League Cup Winners’ medal with Killie in 2012, was subsequently frozen out and did not play again until January 31 after being snapped up by Dundee for his second stint at the club.
However, as he prepared for a return to Ayrshire, he was simply determined to help the Dark Blues win three points.
He said: “I cannot wait to go back to Kilmarnock and I am really looking forward to it. If selected, I am determined to do my best.
“I don’t feel that I have anything to prove going back there though. I played a lot of games for the club and when it came time to move on that was it really.
“I don’t think it has ever been questioned whether I could play at this level, so I am just looking forward to going back and hopefully getting three points for my team.”
