DUNDEE SKIPPER Stephen O’Donnell has expressed his relief that his injury nightmare is finally coming to an end.
The midfielder made his long-awaited comeback on Tuesday night for the Dark Blues’ Under-20 side against Motherwell.
Having come through that test unscathed, O’Donnell hopes he can now start setting his sights on a first-team return, having not featured since the August 25 game against Ross County.
The 29-year-old said: “It’s a mixture of relief and seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. That’s the best way to describe it.
“It’s been a long road back which hasn’t been very pleasant if I’m being perfectly honest. But I’m gradually getting there which is the main thing after all I’ve been through.
“I wasn’t even sure how I’d be going into the Motherwell game but I have to say it went as well as I could possibly have hoped for.
“There has been no ill-reaction at all and I’m feeling quite good and just raring to go to help the lads.”
