Dundee United expect to have a huge backing behind them at Hampden for next month’s Scottish League Cup final after being given extra tickets.
Most Tangerines fans will be housed in the national stadium’s West Stand and United have taken delivery of a “new and final” allocation of tickets for that stand, comprising £28 tickets and a small number of concession tickets priced at £12.
Tickets for the lower and upper sections of the South Stand, which are slightly more expensive at £35, remain on sale also.
United contacted the SPFL for more briefs after sales of tickets for the March 15 showpiece neared the 15,000 mark, with around 18,000 Tangerines fans in total expected to make their way to Hampden.
Season ticket holders have been quick to snap up tickets after they went on sale on Monday morning, and tickets will go on general sale at 9am on Friday morning subject to availability.
A club statement confirmed: “All tickets are available to purchase in person via our ticket centre situated in Tannadice Street and over the phone on 01382 833166 (options 1 or 3).
“Only South Stand tickets (lower and upper) can be purchased online.
“Please note, phone lines have been extremely busy as has ticket centre footfall due to the massive demand and exceptional rate of ticket sale, therefore we would appreciate supporters showing patience through the process of securing your tickets.
“Ticket centre staff would also appreciate if ticket pick up requests could be held off until next week if possible.”
