Dundee United 2 Ross County 1: Tangerines back on track with win over Staggies
ByNeil Robertson
Dundee United bounced back strongly from last week’s heavy defeat at Celtic Park with a 2-1 win at Tannadice over Ross County.
A first-half headed goal by Nadir Ciftci gave the Tangerines a deserved lead in an opening 45 minutes when the Staggies rarely threatened Rado Cierzniak’s goal.
However, County equalised shortly after the restart when former Raith Rovers and Dunfermline winger Joe Cardle played in Graham Carey and his cross was rifled home by Jake Jervis.
United kept pressing though and got the winner courtesy of supersub Chris Erskine.
He capitalised on a poor punch by Staggies keeper Antonio Reguero to powerfully fire home to secure victory for Jackie McNamara’s side their third win out of four in the league so far.
