If Sporting Lisbon are preparing a January bid for Stuart Armstrong, they haven’t told Dundee United.
And the same goes for Premiership rivals Celtic.
Reports from Portugal have suggested that Sporting are keen to re-unite the 22-year-old with former United team-mate Ryan Gauld himself in the news today after scoring a wonder goal for Sporting’s B team.
However, sources at Tannadice have indicated that they aren’t aware of any interest.
Celtic are also rumoured suitors of the attacking midfielder, and QPR have tracked Armstrong over the last couple of years, but nobody has showed their hand ahead of the transfer window opening up in a few weeks.
If a January bid is lodged, it will have to be a significant one to tempt United into selling, as virtually a year ago to the day, the Scotland under-21 international extended his contract through to the summer of 2016.
