Dundee United players Andrew Robertson, Ryan Gauld and Stuart Armstrong will fight it out with St Johnstone striker Stevie May for the prestigious PFA Scotland young player of the year award.
On a proud day for the Tangerines, the emergence of young talent at Tannadice has been recognised by the trio’s fellow professionals in the nominations for the players’ union honour.
Also, there will be delight at McDiarmid Park that their star goalscorer May is also in the running.
The winners will be announced at PFA Scotland’s annual dinner in Glasgow on April 27.
Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd is the only non-Celtic player on the shortlist for the Premiership player of the year award.
The 30-year-old former Rangers player joins Kris Commons, Fraser Forster and Virgil van Dijk in the nominations.
