St Johnstone 2 Dundee United 0 : Comfortable win for Saints over Tangerines
ByIan Roache
There was a comfortable 2-0 victory for St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup final dress rehearsal against Dundee United at McDiarmid Park.
Saints had the better of the first half and took the lead on 32 minutes thanks to Steven Anderson.
United conceded a freekick out on the left and when the ball was floated to the back post the defender was there to nod into the net.
The Tangerines had their moments but the Perth men carried a deserved lead in with them at half-time.
They added to their advantage on 76 minutes when striker Stevie May converted a Dave Mackay cross at the near post.
United kept their best chance to the closing stages when substitute Brian Graham sent a downward header goalwards only for keeper Alan Mannus to claw the ball away.
