Mario Bilate set his sights on Celtic after his superb late strike kept Dundee United at the top of the Premiership.
The Tangerines have a perfect six-point record after Bilate’s bullet shot with seven minutes remaining secured a 1-0 victory over Motherwell.
Now they head west to face champions Celtic on Saturday lunchtime looking to maintain what has been a terrific start to the new season, with a hammering of Aberdeen also already in the bag.
Bilate said: “It think that is going to be a totally new experience for me at Celtic Park. Sometimes in Holland you can play in front of maybe 500 fans but this will be very different.
“We go there with this confidence boost. We can play good football and I think that sets us apart from most of the teams in the SPFL.
“Hopefully, now we can get a good result at Celtic Park. From what I have been told it has been several decades since United won there but I think we have a good chance.
“Maybe this can be the perfect opportunity to strike and win there.”
Bilate sent the ball flying into the Steelmen’s net from 30 yards but he revealed it wasn’t the best goal he has scored in his career.
“At first I just wanted to control the ball but I saw the defender come towards me out of the corner of my eye,” he said.
“I wanted to let the ball run past but gave it a slight touch and just struck it . I watched the ball and it seemed to go in every direction. It was an incredible goal.”
Manager Jackie McNamara was delighted with his substitute’s strike, saying: “It was a fantastic goal and one worthy of winning any match.
“I am sure Mario is going to be a great player for us. It was a good start for him anyway. I think we deserved it because we kept plugging away at them and got there in the end.”
