Dundee United fans continue to answer the club’s Scottish Cup semi-final clarion call, with Jackie McNamara’s side now guaranteed a backing of over 11,000 supporters for their clash with Rangers.
The Friday start of the general sale of tickets saw United fans flock to the club shop and snap up around 2,000 over the course of the day.
Season ticket holders had already taken the total to nearly 9,000.
That means the Tangerines have sold out the Broomloan Road stand and the Govan West corner and are now selling seats in the Govan stand.
All £15 adult and £5 concession tickets have been bought, and all that remain are the £23 tickets in the Govan Stand.
The fact that there is now a tangerine and black presence in that part of the ground will mean the waiting game for Rangers supporters goes on.
The SFA is holding back their allocation for the Govan Stand until the demand for tickets from United dries up.
So it is likely they may not be able to purchase tickets until April 3.
Gers supporters will occupy the whole of the Bill Struth Main Stand, the whole of the Copland Stand, but they won’t now be getting the whole of the Govan Stand as appeared would be the case when the SFA first drafted their ticketing plans for the last four tie on April 12.
