Dundee United have extended the contracts of two of their promising youngsters, Scott Smith and Scott Fraser.
The pair have agreed to sign deals that will see them stay at Tannadice until the end of season 2015-16.
Smith, who is 18, plays as a central midfielder for Stevie Campbell’s Under-20 side and recently made his debut in the first team.
Left-sided attacking midfielder Fraser (19) has also featured in several first-team squads this season after battling back from serious injury.
United boss Jackie McNamara commented: “Both the lads have been excellent and deserve these contracts. They have been part of the first team squad for a number of weeks and have really impressed me. There is a great future for both these lads at the club if they continue to develop at the current rate.
“For Dundee United, it is vital that we bring through our own young players and today’s news shows that we work hard to continue to produce our own talent. There are other players who are out on loan currently who will also be ready to step into the first-team squad in the near future and this delights me.”
