Scottish Cup final round-up: Dundee United ‘still in a good place’, says chairman

Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson has declared that the club “is still in a good place” despite Saturday’s shattering Scottish Cup final defeat.
Thompson stressed that he and manager Jackie McNamara have already been working hard on preparing for next season.
The Tannadice chief expressed his gratitude to the 28,000-plus fans who travelled through to Glasgow only to head back east wondering what might have been.
“Firstly, well done to St Johnstone and especially so to Geoff Brown (their former chairman),” said Thompson.
“I am absolutely gutted to have lost the cup final, especially for the fantastic United support that went through to Celtic Park to back the team.
“As I reflect on last season, though, I would say we are still in a good place as a club.
“Jackie and I will be doing all we can to ensure that next season is even more exciting for our supporters.
“Our fans can be assured that our work has already started.”
