Dundee United have announced that Stevie Campbell has signed a new contract with the club in an expanded role.
Campbell’s job title is now Head of Youth Recruitment and Development.
The Dundonian has been at Tannadice since 2006 and has played a significant role in building the Tangerines’ reputation as one of the country’s top youth academies.
Under his watch, the likes of Ryan Gauld, John Souttar and Stuart Armstrong have come through the ranks.
Campbell will be responsible for integrating young prospects into the first team squad. He will also work closely with the youth academy manager and scouts.
Chairman Stephen Thompson said: “We are delighted that Stevie has committed his future to Dundee United Football Club. We are continuing to follow a strategy that identifies and develops some of the best young players in the country who can, in turn, blend into a team that entertains and rewards the supporters.
“This is a process that requires patience but our football management team and coaching staff believe in this strategy as we believe it provides the best long term security for the club.”
Campbell added: “I love working at this club and the opportunity to continue to develop players who will star for Dundee United remains my passion.
“This club gives young players an opportunity to flourish as footballers and I am delighted to accept the opportunity to continue working hard for the future of Dundee United.”
