Dundee United have confirmed the signing of central defender Coll Donaldson on a three-year deal.
The 20-year-old has joined up, subject to clearance, after having his contract with Queens Park Rangers terminated by mutual agreement.
Donaldson, who moved to QPR from Livingston in January 2014, is likely to see action in tonight’s match against AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands and he is delighted to be with the Tangerines in time for pre-season.
Coll said: “The manager’s desire to sign me and his vision for taking the club forward convinced me this was the right place to enhance my development and improve as a player.
“I enjoyed my time at QPR and it has improved me as a footballer and person but this is a great move for me and being across here with the squad for pre-season training camp will help me settle in quickly.”
Manager Jackie McNamara added: “I am really delighted with this capture, he is an excellent defender and he is an excellent addition to the squad.
“He is skilful, physical and quick and will add to the competition amongst our defenders.
“We are extremely fortunate that he was available and it was important that we got him signed up before others were aware of him. United fans will enjoy watching him play.”
