Dundee United signing Darko Bodul looking to fulfil potential
ByNeil Robertson
Darko Bodul candidly confesses he didn’t make the most of the opportunity of playing for Ajax and being coached by legendary Dutch striking talents Marco Van Basten and Dennis Bergkamp when he was younger.
Now, older and wiser, he is looking to seize the chance handed to him by Dundee United and make his way to the top.
The 26-year-old signed with the Tangerines on Monday after meeting with manager Jackie McNamara during the club’s training trip to Holland last week.
Bodul, who has played for Croatia’s Under-21 side but also has an Austrian passport, is now looking to fulfil his potential after being at a number of clubs in recent years, and finally live up to the billing he was given at Ajax by the famous coaching duo of being one of their “biggest talents”.
He said: “My goal is to come here, score goals and make a bigger step.
“I am 26 and I believe in my quality, this team and this club. I want to do well here and reach the top.”
