Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson to attend Celtic game despite Jets speculation
ByIan Roache
Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson will be at Saturday’s match against Celtic, despite being linked with an “imminent” purchase of Newcastle Jets.
Reports from Down Under had Thompson’s consortium on the brink of snapping up the Australian club for £1.9 million, which is what it will cost to buy the operating licence from the Football Federation of Australia.
However, Thompson, who has signed a non-disclosure agreement covering the Jets deal, is back in Scotland and will cheer on the Tangerines in the lunchtime clash with the Hoops at Tannadice.
