Dundee United 1 Dundee 1: Late goal denies 10-man Dark Blues
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dundee were denied their first derby win since November 2004 as Michael Gardyne’s late strike forced a draw.
John Brown’s side were reduced to 10 men when captain Gary Irvine was sent off after 20 minutes, but Ryan Conroy broke the deadlock with a spectacular 67th-minute effort.
That looked like giving the SPL’s bottom club a long overdue win over their rivals, until substitute Gardyne broke their hearts to keep Jackie McNamara’s men in the hunt for a top-six finish.
