Dundee United have been linked with a possible swoop for former player Noel Hunt.
The 33-year-old Irishman, signed by then Tannadice boss Craig Brewster a decade ago, has been playing in England since moving from the Tangerines to Reading in 2008.
Hunt joined Southend United last summer and he has scored four goals in 15 appearances.
Recently, though, he has been mainly used as a substitute.
Saturday saw him come on for just the final few minutes of a 3-0 win over Coventry City, for whom older brother Stephen was making his debut.
Meanwhile, United have Romanian centre-half Andrei Cordos on trial.
